La famille LeBlanc is a musical group formed by Robin and his three daughters: Charlotte, Rosalie, and Mélodie. Deeply rooted in Acadian tradition and enriched by influences from around the world, they offer a vibrant and heartfelt musical journey that bridges generations.

Robin, a lifelong musician, began classical piano training at the age of seven at the Sisters' Convent in Bathurst, in affiliation with Université de Moncton. Over the years, he expanded his musical palette to include drums and violin, traveling to more than fifteen countries—including Hungary, Ireland, Morocco, Turkey, and Mexico—where diverse musical traditions left a lasting imprint on his creative path. His solo album Sur l’an premier features rare and forgotten traditional tunes from the Atlantic provinces, carefully curated through consultation with culture bearers to highlight lesser-known or unrecorded repertoire.

In 2016, Robin brought his family to the World Traditions Festival in Gannat, France, where his daughters performed Acadian songs and traditional jig dancing. That moment marked the beginning of La famille LeBlanc. A year later, each daughter chose her own instrument: Fiddle for Charlotte, Concertina for Rosalie, and Irish flute for Mélodie.

Since then, the family has represented Canada at festivals abroad, including a performance in South Korea (2018) and a tour in France (2019). In 2020, they released their debut album Trois jolies demoiselles [Three pretty ladies], which was nominated for Trad/Folk Album of the Year at the 2022 East Coast Music Awards (ECMAs). The album showcases the family’s unique interpretation of traditional Acadian and Celtic music, colored by their travels and collective imagination.

The last family album Perdrais-je mon temps.... is designed to be learned by ear, in keeping with the oral tradition of folk music. The project is supported by a generous grant from the Canada Council for the Arts, as well as three Career Development grants from artsnb, which have helped the family gain visibility and launch their artistic journey.

With deep respect for heritage and a joyful spirit of discovery, La famille LeBlanc continues to bring traditional music to life—together, as a family.
